Mr. Mahendra K DagaChairman & Whole Time Director
A successful businessman and a sound technocrat, Mr. Mahendra K. Daga’s name is synonymous with the tiles industry. He has vast experience in erecting, commissioning and successfully managing various multi location tiles plants, and is acclaimed as an authority in this field. He has successfully commissioned various Ceramic Tile Plants / Ceramic Refractories / Ceramic Transfers at various locations. He takes an active part in overall functional areas of the Company. Under the overall supervision of the Board of Directors, he has been instrumental in taking the company from strength to strength.
Mr. Daga is a Founder member of the Indian Council of Ceramic Tiles & Sanitaryware (ICCTAS) , the apex body in India representing the Ceramic Tile Industry. He has also represented India as one of the eight speakers from all over the world at the “International Meeting on Ceramic Industry” organised by Assciazione Costrullori Italiani Machine Attrezzature per Ceramica, at Modena, Italy on 26th May, 2000. He is an environmentalist having foreseen the related problems of pollution by forbidden smoking, falling of trees and conservation of water in all his organizations as early as 1971. He occasionally delivers talks on horticulture and preservation of nature.
Mr. Madhur DagaManaging Director
Mr. Madhur Daga is the Managing Director of Orient Bell Limited (OBL), one of the leading manufacturers of Ceramic, Vitrified, Wall, Floor and Digital Tiles that cover the entire range of applications for your living and working spaces. An industry veteran, Madhur graduated in 1993 with a BBA degree from the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles. After working overseas for a year, he joined OBL (formerly Orient Ceramics and Industries Limited) for a short stint, after which he completed his Post Graduation with a degree in International Corporate Finance from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. Subsequently, he pursued his entrepreneurial skills and set up a software business, which he sold in the year 2005. He then rejoined Orient Ceramics and Industries Limited as the Executive Director, responsible for the overall strategic direction and new product development. Post the acquisition of Bell Ceramics, Madhur was promoted as Joint Managing Director in the year 2013 and although responsible for the overall management of the merged company, in his present role, he spends most of his time leading OBL’s Product Innovation Team, Special Projects & interacting with key customers and stakeholders. In May 2017, Madhur was promoted as Managing Director of OBL. Madhur is a passionate endurance runner who loves keeping himself fit, traveling & listening to all genres of music, especially jazz. As a Vipassana practitioner, his work-life balance is aided by daily mediation & regularly attending Vipassana courses across India.
Mr. K.M. PaiNon-Executive & Independent Director
Mr K M Pai has done MSc(Maths) from I I T Bombay and PGDM( Finance) from I I M Bangalore. He is also a qualified Cost and Management Accountant and a Company Secretary. He began his career in ABB, Baroda as a Systems Analyst. He had a five year stint in Finance, Costing and Budgeting in BHEL, Delhi and Bangalore. He has worked in Bajaj Tempo Ltd and Kinetic Engineering Ltd Pune in Finance, Taxation, Project Management and Management Accounting during which he was instrumental in arranging funding for Pithampur Project from IFC Washington. Mr Pai has overseen the establishment of Murudeshwar Ceramics Limited and successfully managed its public and rights issues. Before joining OBL, Mr Pai had a long stint in Bell Ceramics Ltd where he successfully set up India’s first dry process ceramic tile plant, near Bangalore and oversaw the implementation of ERP system. He later served as the Managing Director of the company. At Orient Bell Ltd, Mr Pai oversees all commercial functions that include Finance, Accounts, IT, Materials, Logistics, Secretarial and Sales and Distribution. He assists the board in shaping company’s long term policies and strategies for growth and profitability.
Ms. Bindiya Shyam AgrawalNon-Executive & Independent Director
Ms. Bindiya holds an MBA from Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. She brings 16+ years of rich and diversified experience across industries, held varied leadership roles and worked across multiple leading organizations such as McKinsey & Company, Myntra & Jabong, Lodha Ventures, and Cactus Venture Partners (CVP), solving a variety of problems. At present she is a Partner (external consultant) at SKC World, focusing on Clarow - a suit of SKC’s Enterprise Building Products.
Her expertise lies in leading business turnarounds, transformational growth, strategy initiatives and running CEO’s office. One of her key strengths is finding solutions to complex problems through inner clarity. She enjoys turning around problem areas into opportunities and galvanizing teams to punch much above their weight. Her collaboration style is open, engaging, and focused on impact.
She held the position of a Director on the Board of Sakthi Auto Component Limited, appointed by AAPICO Hitech Public Company Limited, a Thailand based business conglomerate, between Jan’22 and Dec’23, the period when AAPICO held majority shareholding in the Company.
Ms. Bindiya is a self-confessed seeker and a deep-meditator.
Mr. Sameer KambojNon-Executive & Independent Director
Sameer Kamboj aged about 46 years, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and excelled in the corporate world for over 8 years since 1992. Mr Kamboj has expert knowledge in the fields of Finance, General Management, and Business Processes and has a deep understanding of the “Human Capital with the Emotional Quotient”. He is a Professional and has raised more than 500 crores from both capital and debt markets for projects in various industries and then moving on to setting up and running a Treasury that became India’s largest private treasury in a matter of 2 years. He also worked hands on to set up projects in the textile, auto components, and Information technology Industry and has achieved milestones. Since 1999, Sameer has been helping Business Owners and Senior Leaders accomplish their potential in both their personal and professional lives. He is a Strategy and Management Coach. Mr. Kamboj is a Leadership Coach and is a partner of Leadership Management International Inc., USA (LMI) which is the world’s oldest and Largest professional development company. He is an active speaker at various seminars. He deliberates on the topics related to “Leadership”, Management, Productivity, Indian Business models, and Human Capital.
Mr. Thambiah ElangoNon-Executive & Independent Director
Mr. Thambiah Elango, aged about 59 years, has 33+ years of extensive operational leadership career with top ranked companies across Industries. An MBA from IIM-Bangalore and M. Tech from IIT, Chennai, Mr. Elango has been part of the successful Indian telecom revolution with leadership roles in Airtel and Tata Teleservices. Post his corporate career, he has built a career as an Entrepreneur and Consultant, helping start-ups with the market fit strategy and the go-to market plans. Mr. Elango is an Ex-Director of Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd. and presently is a director of three private limited companies with active Board roles, one of which is an Indian subsidiary of Five9 Inc, a Nasdaq listed company. He has over 33 years of rich experience having worked with the reputed organisations like Titan Industries Limited, Spice Telecom (Now called ‘Idea’), Bharti Airtel and Tata Teleservices. In his last role at Tata Teleservices, he served as President (Consumer Business) and was responsible for the overall business performance of the Consumer business. His key expertise includes setting up green-field operations, delivering multi-billion-dollar P&Ls in dynamic, hyper-competitive markets, rapid market share growth and turning around underperforming businesses.
Mr. Elango is also founder and operating Trustee of NGO ‘The Ganga Foundation’, which works on ‘Improving lives of persons with Spinal Injury in India. He is also founder of the NGO ‘Hope Ladder’ which focuses on improving lives through power of sports.
